Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during an event in Visakhapatnam, praised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his visionary leadership and impactful speech. Modi acknowledged Naidu’s efforts and stated that his words reflected a strong commitment to development goals.
“After a gap of 60 years, a government has been elected for the third time in the country, and this is my first official program after the formation of the government. The wonderful welcome and blessings I received from the people here are heartwarming. N Chandrababu Naidu has hit all the sixers in his speech. I respect the spirit of each of his words, and I assure the people of Andhra Pradesh and the nation that together we will achieve these goals,” said PM Modi.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, in his address, lauded PM Modi’s dedication to development and expressed optimism about Andhra Pradesh’s progress under his leadership. “You [PM Modi] are always for development. I am always inspired by you and learn many lessons from you. Until yesterday, Amaravati was in a state of uncertainty. Now, you must visit sometime to witness the progress where you laid the foundation. We are finally going to complete it. You will have to inaugurate Amaravati, one of the finest cities, just as you dreamed,” Naidu said.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s achievements in railways, PM Modi noted, “In the field of railways, Andhra Pradesh is one of the states where 100% electrification has been completed. More than 70 railway stations are being developed under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Yojana’. For the convenience of the people, seven Vande Bharat trains and Amrit Bharat trains are being operated. The infrastructure revolution in Andhra Pradesh will transform its landscape, improve connectivity, and boost economic growth, laying the foundation for Andhra’s vision of becoming a $2.5 trillion economy.”
PM Modi emphasized the significance of Visakhapatnam and Andhra’s coastal regions as vital gateways for India’s trade. “We are promoting opportunities related to the sea through the blue economy on a mission mode,” he added.
During the event, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹2 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh. These include the NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub Project at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam, which is India’s first Green Hydrogen Hub under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. With an investment of ₹1.85 lakh crore, the project aims to produce 1500 TPD Green Hydrogen and 7500 TPD Green Hydrogen derivatives, targeting export markets and contributing to India’s renewable energy goals.
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated various railway and road projects worth ₹19,500 crore, including the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam, to improve connectivity and enhance social and economic growth in the region.
Further, Modi laid the foundation for the Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district, which is expected to create thousands of jobs and accelerate economic growth due to its strategic location near the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor and the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Petroleum, Chemical, and Petrochemical Investment Region.
In Tirupati district, PM Modi also inaugurated the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City), a flagship greenfield industrial smart city under the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor. The project, with an investment of ₹10,500 crore, is projected to generate 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs, boosting regional progress and enhancing livelihoods.
