Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Denies Private Jet Purchase, Says Rumours Are “Clickbaity”

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has dismissed speculation that he has purchased a private jet, after a recent report claimed that an aviation startup backed by him had acquired a Bombardier aircraft.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Goyal clarified that neither he nor the startup LAT Aerospace, which he supports, has bought a jet. He criticized the report for being misleading and based on sensationalism.

“For those who want facts more than clickbaity headlines – LAT is a startup, and has not bought any private jet. LAT is about making planes for regional aviation, and is not in the business of buying planes,” he wrote.

While clearly denying ownership of a private aircraft, Goyal did not completely rule out the possibility in the future. Joking about the idea, he added that it would be “nice to have one.”

In response to a user’s comment that read:

“Owning a Jet ain’t a crime. Get a Gulfstream G650! They publicly hate the jet owners – but secretly want to get out of the economy,”

Goyal replied simply:

“One day.”

The clarification follows a Moneycontrol report citing unnamed sources claiming that LAT Aerospace, a Goyal-backed firm, had purchased a Bombardier Global jet. The report noted the aircraft has been parked at Delhi airport’s VIP bay since June 2025, with operations expected to begin on July 16.

According to the report, the Bombardier Global 8000 has a list price of $78 million, while pre-owned Global 6500s can range between $30 million and $45 million. However, the purpose of the flight or ownership details were not publicly disclosed.

This report comes shortly after Goyal made headlines for registering a ₹52.3 crore super-luxury apartment at DLF’s The Camellias in Gurugram. According to Forbes, Goyal’s net worth is estimated at $1.6 billion, largely due to his equity in Zomato.
