Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 28: The full track of Zamaana Lage, the much-anticipated song from the upcoming film Metro… In Dino, has finally been released. Sung by Arijit Singh and Shashwat Singh, and composed by musical maestro Pritam, the track blends poetic depth with contemporary soundscapes.
With lyrics penned by Qaisar Ul Jafri and Sandeep Shrivastava, the song delves into themes of love, longing, and the complexities of urban relationships — a signature element of director Anurag Basu’s storytelling.
Metro… In Dino marks the concluding chapter of Basu’s trilogy of interconnected tales, following Life in a… Metro and Ludo. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and introduces a new generation to the rich emotional textures of city life and modern relationships.
Speaking about the song, composer Pritam said,
“With Qaisar Ul Jafri’s timeless poetry, we wanted to revive the ghazal not as nostalgia, but as something emotionally alive and relevant today… A ghazal can be pop — it can be modern in sound and structure, while still holding on to its poetic soul. That’s what we’ve tried to do with this song.”
The teaser of Zamaana Lage already created buzz thanks to its star-studded cast, including Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee.
