YSRCP MP Mithun Highlights Key Issues On Andhra Pradesh Ahead Of All-Party Meeting

New Delhi [India], January 30: YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy arrived in Delhi on Thursday for the all-party meeting ahead of the Budget Session, emphasizing the need to address long-standing issues related to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Speaking to ANI, Reddy pointed out that previous parliamentary sessions did not allocate enough time to discuss these crucial matters. He stressed that the party would push for sufficient time to address and resolve the pending issues concerning the Act.

“There are a lot of issues regarding Andhra Pradesh, especially the AP Reorganisation Act, for which previous sessions didn’t provide enough time. We will demand adequate time to discuss these pending issues,” he said.

Commenting on the recent stampede during the Maha Kumbh, Reddy called it an unfortunate incident, stressing that it was a religious event and should not be politicized. “It is very unfortunate. We hope such incidents do not happen again,” he added.

Earlier, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju announced that the government had called the all-party meeting on January 30. He also appealed to opposition leaders for cooperation in ensuring smooth discussions in the upcoming session of Parliament.

On the Budget session, Rijiju said, “The Budget session will begin on January 31. Ahead of it, we have called this all-party meeting today.” He also referred to the disruptions in previous sessions, which he described as “hungama,” negatively affecting the image of Parliament. Rijiju urged opposition leaders and MPs to participate in the upcoming discussions to ensure a smooth session.

He expressed optimism that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would present a balanced and well-received Budget. “Everyone is hopeful that a good Budget will be presented. On January 31, the President will address a joint sitting of both Houses, and on February 1, the Union Budget will be presented,” he said.

The Budget session will begin on January 31 and is scheduled to end on April 4. The President will address both Houses of Parliament on January 31, with the Union Budget being presented the following day, February 1. There will be an inter-session break from February 14, and both Houses will reconvene on March 10.
