NEW DELHI — Ek Tha Tiger, the movie that started the YRF Spy Universe, is coming back to theaters as a reward for fans. More than ten years after its first great hit, the action-thriller starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif is coming back to theaters. It hasn’t been officially confirmed yet when the re-release will be.
This news comes after another big accolade for the movie: Ek Tha Tiger has been chosen to be shown at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. It is the first and only Indian movie to join the ranks of famous franchises like James Bond and Mission Impossible.
Ek Tha Tiger, which came out in 2012 and was directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, was a huge hit at the box office. The movie made an incredible ₹320 crore over the world, while its domestic net collection was over ₹198 crore.
The story of the movie introduces us to Avinash Singh Rathore, an Indian intelligence agent known as “Tiger.” He is sent to Dublin to watch a professor who is thought to be giving Pakistan nuclear secrets. But things take an unexpected turn when he falls in love with Zoya, the professor’s babysitter, who has a secret of her own.
Ranvir Shorey, Girish Karnad, Roshan Seth, and Gavie Chahal were all part of the skilled cast that helped tell the story and make the lead performances so good.
The re-release is a great chance for fans to see Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s chemistry and action on the big screen again, and for a new generation of viewers to see the beginning of the cinematic universe that now includes huge hits like War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3.
