Chennai (Tamil Nadu), March 25 : YouTuber Savukku Shankar has alleged that his house was ransacked in retaliation for exposing a scam involving the distribution of vehicles fitted with jet-routing machines to Dalit entrepreneurs.
Shankar claimed the scheme, funded by both the central and state governments, was designed to assist poor Dalits and people below the poverty line, but in reality, many of the beneficiaries were above the poverty line.
Shankar revealed, “I broke a scam in the distribution of vehicles fitted with jet-routing machines to Dalit entrepreneurs. The scheme is sponsored by both the central and state governments and is meant for poor Dalits and scavengers. However, most of the beneficiaries, around 130, are above the poverty line.”
Following his exposure of the alleged scam, Shankar claimed that the Chennai City Police registered an FIR against him. He further accused Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President K. Selvaperunthagai of organizing the attack on his house.
In response to the allegations against the Greater Chennai Police and Commissioner of Police, the case was transferred to the CBCID for further investigation. According to an official release, the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, requested the transfer of the case, and it was subsequently transferred from G-3 Kilpauk Police Station to CBCID for an inquiry.
