A 22-year-old YouTuber, identified as Sagar Tudu (who used the name Sagar Kundu on his channel), went missing on Saturday after being swept away by a sudden surge of water at the Duduma waterfall in Odisha’s Koraput district.
According to reports, Sagar, a resident of Berhampur, was with his friend Abhijit Behera and was attempting to film with a drone camera near the waterfall. Viral videos from the scene show Sagar stranded on rocks as the water level rapidly rose. He was reportedly unable to maintain his balance against the strong current and was swept away.
Authorities had released water from the Machakunda dam following heavy rainfall in the Lamtaput area of Koraput, and people downstream of the dam were alerted. Attempts were made by onlookers to rescue Sagar using ropes, but the current proved too powerful. Further details about his disappearance are not yet available.
