Youth Asian Games 2025: Six Indian Boxers Storm into Finals, Shuttlers And Wrestlers Shine

Indian sportsmen kept up their great performance at the Youth Asian Games 2025 on Tuesday. Six boxers made it to the finals, which guaranteed at least as many medals for the country. India was the best in many sports, as shuttlers, wrestlers, and paddlers all made it to the following rounds with impressive performances.

Six boxers make it to the finals

Khushi Chand of India, who is 15 years old, put on a great show in the girls’ 46kg semifinal, beating Altanzul Altangadas of Mongolia 5-0 to earn a spot in the gold medal match. On Thursday, she will compete against Chen Fang-yu of China in the final.

Chandrika Pujari also made it to the final in the 54kg category by beating Kazakhstan’s Ramina Makhanova 5-0. She will compete against Kumriniso Muhammadova from Uzbekistan for the top prize.

Harnoor Kaur (66kg) overcame Lu Wen-jing of Chinese Taipei 5-0 to get to the final against Ayaulym Ospanova of Kazakhstan. Anshika (80kg+) beat Guo Jiaqing of China and will next face Elnura Kongyat of Kazakhstan.

In a tough 50kg semifinal, Ahaana Sharma beat Uzbekistan’s Nazokat Mardonova 3-2 in a split decision to move on to the final, where she will meet Ma Jong Hyang of DPR Korea.

In the boys’ 50kg division, Lanchenba Singh beat An Phyong Guk of DPR Korea by a score of 5-0, which was quite impressive. This set up a final against Zhumagali Nurmakhan of Kazakhstan.

Yashita Reaches Final in Wrestling

Yashita, a 61kg wrestler from India, made guaranteed her country would win at least a silver medal in girls’ wrestling by beating Kyrgyzstan’s Akylai Chynybaeva 6-0 to get to the final. Later in the day, she will fight Zhaidar Mukhat from Kazakhstan.

🏸 Badminton: Great Results in Singles and Doubles

Suryaksh Rawat moved on to the quarterfinals in badminton after beating Huang Jyun-Kai of Chinese Taipei 21-14, 21-19.

Jaison Bjorn and Angel Punera, who play mixed doubles, also moved on by beating Ramos Roaquine and Shachie Calderon of the Philippines 21-10, 21-13.

Vennala Kalagotla easily made it to the quarterfinals of the girls’ singles with a 21-10, 21-12 win over Eve Bejasa of the Philippines. Tankara Talasila also easily made it to the quarterfinals of the boys’ singles.

🏓 Swimming and Table Tennis

Divyanshi Bhowmick beat Thailand’s Panita Vijittham 11-7, 11-6, and 11-4 in table tennis to move on to the ladies’ round of 16. Syndrela Das and Sarthak Arya made it to the semifinals of the mixed doubles after a thrilling 3-2 triumph over Korea’s Seungsoo Lee and Heo Yerim.

Dhinidhi Desinghu, one of India’s best adolescent swimmers, came in fifth in the girls’ 100m freestyle with a timing of 57.72 seconds.

India has earned 25 medals so far: 3 gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze. They are now in 11th place in the medals table.
