Yogi Government Continues Flower Shower On Ghats And Akharas For Second Day At Mahakumbh

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 14: On the occasion of the first Amrit Snan of Mahakumbh 2025, held on Makar Sankranti, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, organized a magnificent flower shower from helicopters, covering the Sangam banks and showering devotees with rose petals.

The flower showers were directed onto all the ghats and Akharas, adding to the sacred atmosphere of the event. Devotees, deeply moved by the sight of rose petals cascading down from the skies, responded with fervent chants of Jai Shri Ram and Har Har Mahadev.

Under the guidance of the Yogi government, the state’s Horticulture Department had been preparing for this momentous occasion for weeks, ensuring the procurement and storage of rose petals. The department worked diligently to ensure that the showers would be continuous during the various bathing festivals.

For the major snan parvs during the Mahakumbh, the government plans to use around 20 quintals of rose petals per occasion. Following the first bathing festival on Paush Purnima, rose petals were showered on devotees, and the divine floral celebration continued into the second day during Amrit Snan on Makar Sankranti. The flower showers added a sense of devotion and spiritual fervor to the sacred occasion.

The Horticulture Department made arrangements for over 40 quintals of rose petals to ensure that the grandeur of the event was maintained over the first two days. This thoughtful initiative from the Yogi government deeply touched the devotees, enriching their spiritual experience at the Mahakumbh.

The Maha Kumbh, one of the largest and most significant religious gatherings globally, is held every 12 years at one of four locations in India. The 2025 Poorna Kumbh began on January 13 and will conclude on February 26. With millions of devotees, pilgrims, and tourists expected to attend, the event offers a unique opportunity to showcase India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
