Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 16: Yash Raj Films has officially released the title track of Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical, the stage adaptation of the iconic 1995 Bollywood film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The launch of the title song comes just ahead of the musical’s highly anticipated UK premiere.
Composed by the renowned duo Vishal and Sheykhar, with lyrics penned by Nell Benjamin, the song sets the tone for the grand stage production, which will debut at the Manchester Opera House on May 29, 2025. The show will run until June 21.
Directed by Aditya Chopra, the original filmmaker behind the beloved 1995 classic, the musical features Jena Pandya as Simran and Ashley Day as Roger. The show promises a vibrant fusion of East and West, with 18 original English songs.
Speaking about the title song, composer Sheykhar Ravjiani shared, “I have enjoyed every moment of creating the music for Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical. This song is incredibly special, and I’m sure the audience will absolutely love it.”
His musical partner Vishal Dadlani added, “We aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgia for those with Indian roots while also introducing Western audiences to India’s rich cultural heritage – from food and music to cinema and tradition.”
The creative team also includes Tony Award-nominated lyricist Nell Benjamin, Emmy and Tony Award-winning choreographer Rob Ashford, and Shruti Merchant as co-choreographer for the Indian dance elements.
