Jharkhand’s Chatra district: A fight over marriage turned deadly when 24-year-old Shabbu Praveen, also known as Noorjahan, is accused of stabbing her 34-year-old fiance, Md Muntajir, to death. The event happened on Thursday night in Lamta village, which is in the territory of the Lawalong police station.
Police say that Muntajir, who lived in the Latehar district’s Sasang village, went to see Noorjahan. The pair got into a fight over their plans to be married, which turned into a violent fight. During the fight, Noorjahan is said to have stabbed Muntajir with a knife.
After the attack, Muntajir was sent to the Chatra Sadar Hospital right away for medical care. Because his injuries were so bad, he was sent to RIMS-Ranchi, a big hospital in the state capital. Sadly, he died from his injuries while being taken to Ranchi.
Police immediately caught Noorjahan and found the knife they thought was used to kill him at the spot. According to Prashant Mishra, the head of the Lawalong police station, the victim had given a statement before he died. This statement was utilized to file the FIR (First Information Report) against the suspect. Noorjahan was then taken to court and sent in jail on Friday.
