New Delhi [India], July 11: Ahead of the much-anticipated release of Special Ops 2, the team behind the espionage thriller — including actors Kay Kay Menon and Parmeet Sethi, along with director Shivam Nair — paid a visit to the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) on Friday.
The team interacted with key officials such as IPS officer Rajesh Kumar (CEO, I4C), Nishant Kumar (Director, I4C), and Roopa M (Director, I4C). Their conversation focused on the blurred lines between cyber threats in fiction and real-world vulnerabilities, underscoring how entertainment can effectively raise public awareness.
Speaking to ANI, I4C Director Nishant Kumar said, “When we say something directly, it may sound preachy. But when the same message is conveyed through storytelling, strong direction, and acting, it becomes engaging and easy to understand. That’s why we’re supporting this effort — awareness is the first line of defence.”
Directed by Shivam Nair, Special Ops 2 features a strong ensemble cast including Prakash Raj, Vinay Pathak, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher, Muzammil Ibrahim, Gautami Kapoor, and Kali Prasad Mukherjee.
Sharing insights into the show’s core message, creator Neeraj Pandey said in a press statement, “This season mirrors the unseen wars of our time. The enemy no longer announces itself — and that changes everything. Special Ops 2 is a reminder that some of the biggest battles are fought without bullets, yet leave deep scars.”
Lead actor Kay Kay Menon, who returns as Himmat Singh, reflected on the evolution of his role. “Himmat has always operated with intellect and instinct. But this time, the battle is invisible, the threats more complex. This season allowed me to dive deeper into Himmat as not just a strategist, but a protector, a father, and a patriot.”
Special Ops 2 is set to premiere on JioHotstar on July 18.
