Washington [US], March 28 : Warner Bros. has officially released the trailer for One Battle After Another, a gripping gunslinger thriller directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
The film, which features an ensemble cast including Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, and Chase Infiniti, is reportedly inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland.
The trailer introduces DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, a desperate man searching for his missing daughter. It opens with Ferguson entering a grocery store in a plaid robe to steal sunglasses before making a cryptic phone call from a payphone. “I need to find my daughter,” he pleads, struggling to recall vital information. The mysterious voice on the other end coldly replies, “Maybe you should have studied the Rebellion text a little harder.”
The teaser also features striking visuals, including Teyana Taylor portraying a pregnant woman wielding a rifle and soldiers storming a home. The trailer ends with DiCaprio’s character delivering a wry remark: “Just when you think you got a handle on things.”
Originally scheduled for an August 8 release, One Battle After Another has now been delayed to September 28. According to Deadline, the shift has fueled speculation about a potential fall festival debut, despite Anderson’s preference for a traditional theatrical rollout. The director’s last festival appearance was with The Master at the 2012 Venice Film Festival, where he won the Best Director award.
