Coercion Allegations in Shakur Basti

Meanwhile, the District Election Officer (DEO) of North Delhi dismissed allegations of voter coercion at the Sainik Vihar polling station in the Shakur Basti constituency. A video shared by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that a police officer forced a voter to support a particular political party. In response, the DEO clarified on social media that after receiving the complaint, a Flying Squad team was dispatched, and an inquiry confirmed that voters had cast their ballots independently, without any external pressure.

This issue had sparked controversy, with AAP accusing the Delhi police of “hijacking the election.”
