Vivek Agnihotri & Bhushan Kumar Join Hands For ‘Operation Sindoor’ Film

Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has announced his next directorial project, Operation Sindoor, a film centered on India’s strategic military response to the devastating April 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam. The project is a collaboration between Agnihotri’s banner, I Am Buddha Production, and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.

The narrative is based on the book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan by Lt Gen K.J.S. ‘Tiny’ Dhillon. According to the production team, the film is grounded in extensive research and incorporates direct inputs from various branches of the Indian Armed Forces to ensure a detailed depiction of the events.

The real-life inspiration for the film—the Pahalgam attack of April 22, 2025—resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, at the Baisaran meadow. This tragedy remains one of the most significant security incidents in the region since the 2019 Pulwama strike.

Agnihotri, who has built a reputation for exploring politically charged and fact-based historical events through films like The Tashkent Files, The Kashmir Files, and last year’s The Bengal Files, is expected to bring his signature approach to this account of India’s military operations.
