Vishnu Manchu Appeals Against Piracy As ‘Kannappa’ Hit By 30,000 Illegal Links

New Delhi [India], July 1: Actor Vishnu Manchu, currently celebrating the box office success of his latest film Kannappa, has raised alarm over widespread piracy affecting the movie.

Taking to his X handle, Vishnu revealed that over 30,000 illegal links of Kannappa have already been removed, describing the situation as “heartbreaking.”

“Dear movie lovers, #Kannappa is under attack from piracy. Over 30,000 illegal links have already been taken down. This is heartbreaking. Piracy is theft — plain and simple. We don’t teach our children to steal. Watching pirated content is no different. Please don’t encourage it. Support cinema the right way. Har Har Mahadev,” Vishnu wrote in an emotional appeal to audiences.

Even before its release, the production faced serious challenges when the hard disk containing the movie’s VFX visuals was allegedly stolen from the studio. According to Film Nagar police, unknown individuals broke into the office and took the disk, causing major disruption.

Kannappa features a stellar ensemble cast, including Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Vishnu Manchu, Mohan Babu, and Kajal Aggarwal. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by veteran actor Mohan Babu, the film was shot on a lavish scale, with key sequences filmed in New Zealand.

At the heart of Kannappa lies the powerful tale of a fearless tribal hunter whose unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva leads him to perform an extraordinary act of selflessness. The film combines breathtaking visuals, intense action, and deep emotional resonance to adapt this legendary story for the big screen.

Vishnu Manchu, who portrays the titular Kannappa, has earned widespread acclaim for what many consider a career-defining performance, delivering an impressive mix of action prowess and heartfelt emotion. His portrayal brings the legendary devotee’s courage and spiritual fervor vividly to life.

Kannappa was released in theatres worldwide on June 27.
