Visakhapatnam Train Fire: One Dead After Two Coaches Blaze On Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express

Visakhapatnam: A tragic incident unfolded late Sunday night when two compartments of the Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express caught fire near Yalamanchili, approximately 66 km from Visakhapatnam. According to senior police officials, the incident was reported around 12:45 am.

There were 82 passengers in one of the affected coaches and 76 passengers in the other at the time of the fire. Sadly, officials confirmed that a body was recovered from the B1 coach, identified as Chandrsekhar Sundaram.

Authorities immediately detached the two damaged coaches to ensure passenger safety, allowing the remaining portion of the train to continue its journey toward Ernakulam. Officials also assured that passengers from the affected coaches would be safely transported to their respective destinations.

Meanwhile, two forensic teams have been deployed to investigate the cause of the fire. The authorities stated that further details will be revealed once the investigation concludes.
