Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 25: Celebrity couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli recently visited the sacred Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya, where they offered prayers and sought spiritual blessings. Their temple visit, marked by devotion and serenity, has become a talking point across social media platforms.
Photographs and videos from the visit show the couple standing with folded hands, immersed in prayer. Anushka, dressed in a modest mauve suit with a dupatta covering her head, and Virat, donning a cream-colored ethnic outfit, were seen bowing their heads in reverence.
Temple priests welcomed the couple warmly, adorning them with garlands and shawls as a mark of respect. The head priest of Hanuman Garhi, Sanjay Das Ji Maharaj, praised their spiritual connection.
“Virat Kohli ji and Anushka Sharma ji have a deep bond with spirituality, Indian culture, and Sanatana Dharma. They visited Bhagwan Ramlala first and then came here to seek Hanuman ji’s blessings,” he told.
The couple’s spiritual journey has gained momentum in recent times. Prior to their Ayodhya visit, they had traveled to Vrindavan, where they met renowned spiritual leader Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj. During that visit, the couple engaged in an introspective dialogue centered on inner peace, devotion, and the transformative power of chanting God’s name.
Premanand Ji, in a candid conversation, asked Virat if he was truly happy. Both Virat and Anushka were seen listening intently as the guru spoke about the path to spiritual liberation through devotion.
This spiritual outing comes shortly after Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket. Despite stepping away from the red-ball format, he continues to play a key role in the IPL, with Anushka showing her support by attending his recent match on May 23, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) played against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Lucknow.
