VIP Chief Mukesh Sahni Vows To Become Bihar Deputy CM If Mahagathbandhan Wins Upcoming Assembly Polls

Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahni has declared his ambition to become the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar if the Mahagathbandhan alliance is voted to power in the upcoming state assembly elections.

Speaking at the ‘Sarkar Banao, Adhikar Paao’ Karyakarta Samvad programme in Chandi block, Sahni said, “If the Mahagatbandhan forms the government in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav will be the Chief Minister, and I will be the Deputy Chief Minister.”

Sahni lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of orchestrating his ouster from power. “When I was doing good work in the government, the BJP conspired against me and removed me from power. They even attempted to buy our MLAs,” he said.

Despite his personal ties with Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal, Sahni emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the Mahagathbandhan. “While I may have personal relations with Dilip Jaiswal, our commitment to the Mahagathbandhan remains firm. BJP leaders once bowed before us for an alliance, yet we did not compromise with the NDA. Our priority is preserving our society, and we will support only those who ensure our rights,” he added.

He further alleged that the BJP is attempting to weaken the alliance. “The BJP is trying to divide the Mahagathbandhan by making misleading statements in the media. But let me clarify–no one can break the bond between Tejashwi Yadav and me.”

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections, expected to be held later this year. Over 200 Booth-Level Agents (BLAs) recently participated in a national training programme at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management in Delhi.

Sources indicate that the ECI is working to ensure a smooth, free, and fair electoral process.

The upcoming Bihar polls are shaping up to be a high-stakes political battle, with the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA)—comprising Janata Dal (United) led by CM Nitish Kumar and the BJP—set to face off against the Mahagathbandhan, an opposition bloc made up of the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Left parties.
