Violence Erupts At Anti-ICE Protest In Seattle; Dumpster Set Ablaze, Officers Targeted

Seattle, WA – A large anti-ICE protest that began peacefully on Wednesday evening quickly turned violent after demonstrators reached the Seattle Federal Building. The rally, which started at Cal Anderson Park, escalated near 3rd Avenue and Marion Street, where a dumpster was set on fire and objects were hurled at police officers.

Dumpster Set on Fire, Officers Attacked

Hundreds of protesters marched through downtown Seattle, voicing opposition to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Tensions intensified when demonstrators pushed a dumpster into an intersection and ignited it, according to law enforcement officials.

“Protesters near 3rd Avenue and Marion Street began throwing fireworks and rocks at officers,”
Authorities said in a public statement.

In response, Seattle police issued a dispersal order and reportedly used rubber bullets and physical force to break up the crowd.

Unrest Outside the Federal Building

Unconfirmed social media footage and eyewitness accounts suggest that the Seattle Federal Building may have been vandalized, including reports of broken windows. While no official statement has yet confirmed the damage, videos from the scene show intense confrontations between police and demonstrators.

Reports of Looting Surface

There have also been unverified reports of looting in nearby areas. Authorities have not confirmed these claims but are reportedly investigating.

As of now, there are no official updates on injuries, arrests, or property damage.
