New Delhi [India], March 30: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, under the leadership of Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, has announced the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, scheduled from April 1st to 3rd, 2025. This initiative aims to empower young individuals by fostering their participation in politics, public policy, and governance, according to an official statement from the ministry.
A Revamped Youth Parliament for a New India
The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is a modern reimagination of the traditional Youth Parliament, providing a dynamic platform for young voices to engage in national discourse. This year’s event marks a significant shift, with all 300 district nodal rounds conducted in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring maximum participation.
Over 75,000 young people from every State and Union Territory submitted video entries through the MY Bharat portal, showcasing their vision for a developed India. The selection process was entirely digital, underscoring the integration of technology in governance initiatives.
Three-Stage Structure of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament
The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 is designed in three key stages to facilitate youth engagement:
- District Nodal Rounds:
- Held across 300 district nodes, these rounds involved discussions on One Nation, One Election at the grassroots level.
- Candidates submitted one-minute video entries answering, “What does Viksit Bharat mean to you?”
- State Rounds:
- Conducted in 17 State Assemblies and government establishments, marking a historic step in bridging the gap between youth and governance.
- State Speakers and Governors presided over the sessions, lending them credibility and significance.
- National Round (April 1-3, 2025):
- 108 youth representatives (top three from each State/UT) will participate in high-level debates.
- Key activities include Question Hour on One Nation, One Election and Viksit Bharat discussions.
- A Masterclass by a senior Member of Parliament will equip participants with oratory and leadership skills.
- Participants will attend live sessions in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, providing them with firsthand exposure to governance.
- A visit to the PM Sangrahalaya will offer insights into India’s political history and leadership evolution.
Grand Finale and Awards Ceremony
The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament will conclude on April 3rd with an Awards Ceremony, where winners will receive:
