Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 08: After a series of delays, Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated action spy thriller Kingdom finally has a locked-in release date. The film is now scheduled to release worldwide on July 31.
The announcement was made by Vijay himself on Monday through a 44-second promo shared on social media. The high-octane teaser reveals two shades of his character — first as a determined police officer and later as a rugged prisoner trying to survive behind bars. Packed with intense action, gunfire, and raw emotion, the promo has already generated major buzz.
Along with the video, Vijay captioned the post:
“July 31st. Worldwide. Let our Destinies unfold.”
The film has faced multiple scheduling shifts. Originally slated for a May 30 release and later moved to July 4, the makers were forced to postpone it again due to political tensions between India and Pakistan that disrupted promotional plans.
An earlier statement from the production team read:
“We explored every possibility to stick to the original date, but recent unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations.”
Reacting to the new release announcement, actress Rashmika Mandanna commented:
“This is… All the bestest to the whole team! Have a greaaaaaatttt feeling about this one. July 31st is going to be a big celebration!”
Kingdom is written and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, and features Vijay Deverakonda, Bhagyashri Borse, and Satyadev in pivotal roles. The film is produced by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
