An aspiring actor’s social media dream turned into reality after Vijay Deverakonda noticed his Instagram audition and offered him a role in his upcoming film Ranabaali. The heartwarming moment has since gone viral, showcasing the power of social media in discovering new talent.
The actor, Jeevan—who previously appeared in Dhee Season 15—shared a Reel featuring his audition for the film directed by Rahul Sankrityan. In the clip, he appeared in an intense avatar, dressed in a traditional dhoti and covered in fake blood, while urging viewers to tag the film’s team, including Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna.
Impressed by his performance, Vijay responded publicly, asking the team behind Ranabaali to cast him immediately and praising his “immense talent.” The film’s official team also acknowledged the audition, calling it “brilliant.”
Overwhelmed by the unexpected opportunity, Jeevan shared another video expressing his gratitude. Fighting back tears, he thanked Vijay and his supporters, crediting social media for changing his life. He revealed that the film’s team had already reached out to him and taken his contact details following Vijay’s endorsement.
Calling it a “zero to hero” moment, Jeevan said the experience proved how platforms like Instagram can open doors for aspiring artists and transform careers overnight.
Ranabaali, set between 1854 and 1878 during the Great Indian Famine and colonial resistance, is scheduled for release on September 11. The film also marks another collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, following their earlier successes.
