The private life of actor and Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Joseph Vijay Chandrasekar has become the center of intense public scrutiny. His wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has formally filed for a legal separation and dissolution of their marriage at the District Court in Chengalpattu. This move comes after over 25 years of marriage, with Sangeetha citing adultery and mental cruelty as primary grounds for the split.
A fresh Interlocutory Application (I.A.) was submitted by Sangeetha seeking an interim order to reside at their matrimonial home on Casuarina Drive, Neelankarai. A British citizen with no other residence in India, Sangeetha expressed fear of being denied accommodation during the ongoing proceedings. The petition further alleges that Vijay has been involved in an “adulterous relationship” with a leading actress since 2021, leading to emotional distress and a breakdown of marital trust.
Adding fuel to the media fire, Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan were recently spotted together at the wedding reception of producer Kalpathi S. Suresh’s son. The duo arrived and exited in the same car, twinning in coordinated beige outfits—a public appearance that many on social media interpreted as a “hard launch” of their relationship. While Vijay has yet to issue an official statement, the court has scheduled the next hearing for April 20, 2026.
