“This Is For My Little One”: Vicky Kaushal Wins Best Actor For ‘Chhaava’, Dedicates Award To Newborn Son

Life has reached a beautiful crescendo for Bollywood’s powerhouse performer Vicky Kaushal. Just over a month after welcoming his first child with wife Katrina Kaif, the actor made a triumphant return to the spotlight at the NDTV Indian Of The Year awards last night.

Vicky was honored with the Best Actor trophy for his soul-stirring portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Laxman Utekar’s historical epic, Chhaava.

A Heartwarming Dedication

Accepting the award, Vicky couldn’t hide his “new dad” glow as he addressed the audience. This marked the first time he traveled out of town since his son was born on November 7, 2025.

“This award is for my family and my little one, who has come in as a blessing. Thank you so much,” Vicky shared during his acceptance speech. “First time I’m out of town after becoming a father. I’m sure when he grows up and watches this, he’ll be proud of his dad.”

On the “Blissful” Chaos of Fatherhood

When prodded about the challenges of being a first-time parent, Vicky dismissed any talk of struggles, choosing instead to focus on the “magic” of the moment.

  • The Feeling: “I don’t know… I can’t describe the feeling in words (Main shabdon mein nahi baiyan kar sakta). It’s just a very special feeling, and truly, God has been very kind.”
  • Diaper Duty: In a moment that drew cheers and laughter from the crowd, Vicky jokingly admitted, “I am better at changing diapers than acting!”

The Vicky-Katrina Baby Update

While the world eagerly awaits the first glimpse and the name of the newest member of the Kaushal-Kaif clan, the couple has kept things private.

  • The Arrival: The baby boy was born on November 7, exactly one month and thirteen days ago.
  • The Celebration: Sources close to the family suggest that Katrina and the baby are doing well, with both the Kaushal and Kaif families currently stationed in Mumbai to help the new parents.

Why ‘Chhaava’ is a Milestone

Vicky’s win for Chhaava cements his position as one of the finest actors of his generation. The film, which chronicles the bravery of the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire, has been lauded for its scale and Vicky’s physically demanding performance.
