New Delhi (India), July 13: The Telugu film industry and fans nationwide are mourning the loss of veteran actor and former MLA Kota Srinivasa Rao, who passed away early Sunday morning in Hyderabad at the age of 83.
Following the news, a large number of fans and admirers gathered outside his residence to pay their final respects. The veteran actor’s passing triggered an outpouring of tributes from film stars, political leaders, and well-wishers.
Tollywood superstar Chiranjeevi remembered him as a “multifaceted genius,” noting his commanding screen presence and the deep void his demise has left in Indian cinema. Actor Vishnu Manchu paid tribute, calling him “an unmatched talent” who brought life to every role, whether villainous, comedic, or serious.
Actor Ravi Teja, who shared screen space with Kota in over ten films, posted a heartfelt message: “Grew up watching him, admiring him, and learning from every performance. Kota Babai was like family to me.”
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu called Kota’s death an “irreparable loss” to the Telugu film industry. He praised the actor’s four-decade-long legacy in cinema and theatre, especially his unforgettable performances in villain and character roles.
Kota Srinivasa Rao was born on July 10, 1942, in Kankipadu near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. His artistic journey left an indelible mark on Indian cinema, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of actors.
