Mumbai, june 22: Actor Varun Dhawan, currently filming the third schedule of his upcoming war drama Border 2, shared a fun behind-the-scenes moment from the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Varun posted a video where he enthusiastically joined young army cadets for a spontaneous knuckle push-up challenge on set.
In the clip, Varun is seen surrounded by energetic cadets, all lined up on the ground to perform the challenge. With loud cheers and a count echoing through the air, the actor and cadets completed the push-ups together. After the friendly challenge, Varun was seen interacting warmly with the cadets—cheering, hugging a few, and exchanging smiles.
In his caption, he wrote,
“BORDER2 Hamare saare young cadets ke saath knuckle challenge. #bts”
About Border 2
Border 2 is the sequel to the 1997 iconic war film Border, directed by JP Dutta. The upcoming film is being helmed by Anurag Singh, known for directing the 2019 hit Kesari. The film features Sunny Deol in the lead role, along with Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty. The third shooting schedule kicked off in Pune last week, with the cast and crew sharing a group picture to mark the moment.
The movie is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and is scheduled for theatrical release on January 23, 2026.
Varun Dhawan’s Upcoming Projects
Varun was last seen in the action thriller Baby John, released on December 25, 2024. The film was a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Theri (2016). Apart from Border 2, fans can also look forward to Varun’s role in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, a romantic comedy backed by Karan Johar. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Maneish Paul in pivotal roles.
