Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, and Sonakshi Sinha Urge Media and Public to Act Responsibly Amid India-Pakistan Tensions

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, and Sonakshi Sinha have spoken out, urging the public and media to behave responsibly.

Taking to social media, actor Varun Dhawan appealed for calm and the dissemination of only verified information. “Let’s spread correct information only,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

Actress Parineeti Chopra echoed similar sentiments, cautioning against the spread of misinformation. “The worst we can do right now is spread fake news and terrify the people who are watching. Let’s rely on official updates and nothing else. Report responsibly,” she posted.

Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha strongly criticised Indian news channels for sensationalising the conflict.
Our news channels are a joke! I’m so done with these over-dramatised visuals and sound effects, the screaming and shouting! What are you’ll doing? Just do your job, report facts as they are. Stop sensationalising WAR and creating panic in people who are anyway anxious, for God’s sake,” she posted.

These statements come as the Indian Armed Forces successfully repelled multiple Pakistani drone and munitions attacks along the Western Border and Line of Control (LoC) during the night of May 8-9.

In a statement, the Indian Army confirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces also carried out several ceasefire violations (CFVs) in Jammu and Kashmir.
The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and a befitting reply was given. The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. All nefarious designs will be responded to with force,” the statement read.

Defence officials also noted that the indigenously developed Akash surface-to-air missile system played a key role in neutralising the drone threats. The Indian Army and Air Force have now deployed the system along the Pakistan border to strengthen defences.
