Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 26: Actor Varun Dhawan marked the 76th Republic Day from the sets of his upcoming film Border 2, which is currently being shot at Babina Cantonment in Jhansi, Madhya Pradesh.
Sharing a picture on his Instagram, Varun was seen holding the national flag while standing atop a tanker, dressed in a blue T-shirt and trousers. Reflecting on the significance of the day, he wrote, “On this Republic Day, let’s celebrate the strength of our unity.”
Earlier, on January 15, Varun had also paid tribute to the Indian Army on the 77th Indian Army Day by sharing photos from the Border 2 sets, where he spent the day interacting with soldiers. “Honoring the real heroes of India this #ArmyDay. Proud to be with them. #Border2 #prep,” he captioned the post.
Border 2 is a highly anticipated sequel to the iconic 1997 film Border and features a strong ensemble cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The film promises to deliver a powerful narrative of patriotism, bravery, and sacrifice.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, and directed by Anurag Singh, the film is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in association with J.P. Films. Nidhi Dutta, the producer and daughter of filmmaker JP Dutta, recently shared her excitement about working with Varun and Diljit. She noted that both actors bring great passion and energy to the project, driven by their admiration for the original film and their eagerness to contribute to telling the story of real-life heroes.
Nidhi also emphasized the importance of having Sunny Deol back in the sequel, calling it a perfect blend of new talent and legacy.
