Mumbai (Maharashtra), March 16: The much-awaited romantic entertainer Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, has a new theatrical release date. Originally set to release on April 18, 2025, the film will now hit the big screens on September 12, 2025, according to the makers.
The delay of the release has been attributed to undisclosed reasons, though fans are still eagerly anticipating the film’s arrival. Directed and written by Shashank Khaitan, the movie is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari marks the second film collaboration between Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor after the 2023 release Bawaal. The film also features an ensemble cast with Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi in key roles. The project is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan.
Fans have already gotten a glimpse behind the scenes, with Varun Dhawan frequently sharing videos and photos from the sets of the film. In a recent behind-the-scenes video shared by the actor, he humorously introduced his character, Sunny, while keeping the identity of Tulsi Kumari a mystery. Varun joked, “Guys, we are on the sets of Sunny Sanskari. Tulsi Kumari, we can’t reveal right now. But Sunny & Sanskari are here.”
Alongside Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Varun Dhawan is also working on Border 2, which is directed by Anurag Singh. The film promises to be a grand cinematic spectacle with a star-studded cast including Sunny Deol reprising his iconic role, alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty.
