Mumbai, April 17 – Fans are thrilled for the much-awaited reunion of Varun Dhawan and director David Dhawan, who are back together for their next comedy caper titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The film, co-starring Pooja Hegde, recently wrapped up an adventurous schedule in Rishikesh and is now headed for a 30-day international shoot in Scotland, beginning April 22.
Insiders reveal that the ensemble cast also includes Mrunal Thakur, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Chunkey Panday, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar. A significant portion of the film’s comedy and chaos-filled scenes will be shot during the Scotland leg.
“The Scotland schedule will largely focus on ensemble sequences and comedic setups. Once completed, the film will be almost wrapped up, except for a few songs and minor patchwork,” a source close to the production shared.
Produced by Ramesh Taurani under the Tips banner, the film sees Varun Dhawan return to his comic roots, a space where he has found immense success in the past.
This marks the fourth collaboration between Varun and his father David Dhawan, following box-office hits like Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No 1.
Meanwhile, Varun has another project lined up — the romantic drama Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, this film also features Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi. Originally slated to release on April 18, it will now hit theatres on September 12, due to undisclosed scheduling reasons.
