Varun Dhawan, David Dhawan Reunite For ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’; Release Set For April 2026

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Bollywood fans have a reason to celebrate as the much-anticipated father-son duo of Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan are teaming up once again for a romantic comedy titled ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’. The film is slated for a theatrical release on April 10, 2026, promising a colourful blend of love, laughter, and chaos.

The announcement was made on Friday via the film’s official Instagram page, along with a vibrant first poster that captures the energetic vibe of the film. The caption read:

Cast and Crew:
Produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by David Dhawan, the film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, and Pooja Hegde in leading roles, alongside Varun Dhawan. Supporting roles will be portrayed by a strong comedic lineup including Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Chunky Panday, Rakesh Bedi, and Ali Asgar.

The film is currently being shot in the United Kingdom and is expected to carry David Dhawan’s signature mix of humour, romance, and high-energy music.

Interestingly, the title ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is inspired by the catchy chartbuster ‘Ishq Sona Hai’ from David Dhawan’s 1999 hit Biwi No.1, which featured Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen.

What to Expect:
According to the makers, the film aims to deliver “a whirlwind of romance, chaos, and classic Bollywood flair with a fresh, modern twist,” staying true to David Dhawan’s legacy while infusing contemporary storytelling.

Varun Dhawan’s Busy Slate:
Apart from this project, Varun Dhawan is also preparing for ‘Border 2’, a follow-up to the iconic 1997 war film Border. The sequel, directed by Anurag Singh, features a powerful ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, and is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
