Robert Vadra Clarifies Remarks On Pahalgam Terror Attack, Reaffirms Support For India

Businessman Robert Vadra on Monday issued a detailed clarification regarding his earlier remarks on the Pahalgam terror attack, emphasizing that his intentions had been “misinterpreted” and reaffirming his strong condemnation of the attack.

Taking to Facebook, Vadra wrote, “Because my intentions have been misinterpreted, I understand it is my responsibility to clarify them. I am committed to clarifying myself with honesty, transparency, and respect.” He added that his silence over the past few days should not be seen as indifference or a lack of patriotism but rather as a period of reflection to respond with maturity and care.

Vadra categorically stated, “I strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that took the lives of innocent people and shattered their families. I stand with India and will always do so. There is no argument—political, religious, or ideological—that can justify this attack. Violence against innocent and unarmed people cannot be condoned.”

Highlighting the broader impact of terrorism, he wrote, “I believe that terrorism in any form is an attack not only on individuals but on the soul of humanity. It destroys the fundamental right of every human being to live without fear.”

Vadra expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and invoked the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, urging the nation to adhere to the principles of non-violence and courage.
“The suffering of our countrymen is our own suffering. Today, in this hour of grief, I express my commitment to build a world where no child, no family, no community lives under the shadow of terror,” his statement read.

Earlier, on April 23, Vadra had termed the Pahalgam attack as a “cowardly” act, stating that such violence only deepens societal divisions and serves no legitimate purpose. He stressed that “religion and politics should stay separated,” and had commented that terrorists “killed people after checking their IDs, believing Muslims are being suppressed.”

The April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killed 26 civilians, including one Nepali national, and injured several others. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation both domestically and internationally and prompted decisive diplomatic and strategic countermeasures by the Indian government.

As India continues to mourn the victims, Vadra’s renewed and emphatic stand seeks to clear any misconceptions and align firmly with the nation’s collective grief and resolve.
