Mumbai (Maharashtra), July 16: Actress Vaani Kapoor is gearing up for her digital debut in the intense murder thriller series ‘Mandala Murders’, set to premiere on Netflix on July 25. Directed by Gopi Puthran and Manan Rawat, the show explores a gripping world of ritualistic killings and hidden conspiracies in the fictional town of Charandaspur.
Vaani described the series as “compelling and layered”, emphasizing the depth and detailing in each character.
“This story is very compelling. Every character has been written very intricately… the OTT format allows for more nuanced development with each episode,” she said.
Preparing for the Role of a Police Officer
Vaani plays Riya, a police officer who is emotionally complex and action-driven. The role demanded physical training and work on her body language and psychology.
“There is action. I had to undergo training. For Riya, I had to work on her thought process, dilemmas, and emotional vulnerability. It was a collaborative effort,” she said.
She also recalled an intense scene where her character breaks down — not out of weakness but from the relief of letting go a heavy emotional burden.
“It was very real and hard-hitting,” Vaani shared.
Working with Veteran Actor Raghubir Yadav
Vaani expressed admiration for Raghubir Yadav, her co-star, calling him “like a family member.”
“He’s funny, warm, and has a dry sense of humour. It was a joy working with him,” she said.
Series Premise and Trailer
The recently released trailer teases a dark mystery involving ritual killings and a centuries-old secret society. Vaani, alongside actors Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Siddhanth Kapoor, and others, sets out to unravel this twisted conspiracy.

“Every answer leads to more questions,” he noted.

‘Mandala Murders’ is the second collaboration between Netflix and Yash Raj Films, following the success of ‘The Railway Men’ in 2023.
