Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Claims BJP Will Win Historic Delhi Assembly Elections

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), February 4: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed confidence on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a historic win in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. He claimed that the “wind of change” was blowing in Delhi, attributing the failures of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over the past decade to the lack of tangible progress in the capital.

In his statement, CM Dhami criticized the AAP for failing to fulfill its major promises, such as cleaning the Yamuna River and reducing pollution. “No significant work has been done there in 10 years. Yamuna has not been cleaned, Delhi has not become pollution-free. In corruption cases, their ministers, CM, Deputy CM, MPs, all have gone to jail and cases are still going on in the court,” he said, adding that people were now prioritizing “double-engine governments.”

He expressed belief that the BJP’s double-engine government would form in Delhi and lead the capital into a new era. “Since the last 27 years, there is non-BJP government in Delhi who have taken the capital behind. Under their rule, Delhi has become the most polluted city in the world,” he stated. He further accused the AAP of supporting “Bangladeshi infiltrators” and being silent during atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Earlier, CM Dhami participated in a roadshow with Union Minister Giriraj Singh in Sangam Vihar to support BJP candidate Chandan Kumar Chaudhary. During the event, he took aim at the AAP government, accusing them of corruption and failing to deliver on promises. “A ‘sheesh mahal’ was built with the hard-earned money of the public. They did a liquor scam. They committed corruption in the name of cleaning the river Yamuna,” he added.

Dhami also criticized the AAP for mismanaging Delhi’s infrastructure, citing poor road conditions, bad sewer lines, and inadequate water supply. He promised that under a BJP-led government, there would be improvements, particularly for women, the poor, senior citizens, and school children. He also announced plans for the establishment of Atal canteens to provide affordable food to the poor.

The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
