Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India]: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized his government’s commitment to conserving and rejuvenating water sources across the state, highlighting the creation of a dedicated body—Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARRA)—to achieve this mission.
Addressing a public program, CM Dhami stated,
“Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARRA) has been constituted to fulfil this objective, through which 929 water sources have been successfully treated so far.”
He added that the initiative is a crucial step toward restoring environmental balance and tackling the looming water crisis, calling it a “far-reaching effort to secure the future.”
In a separate event, the Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 112 newly recruited transport constables and flagged off two promotional vehicles to boost road safety awareness, particularly along the Chardham Yatra route.
The ceremony, held at the Mukhya Sewak Sadan of the Chief Minister’s residence, aimed to both honor the new recruits and kickstart the road safety campaign.
CM Dhami congratulated the appointees, noting,
“This success is not only the result of the hard work, discipline, and determination of the selected youth but also the cooperation, sacrifice, and blessings of their families.”
He stressed the significance of the Transport Constable role in ensuring smooth public transport, overseeing road safety, managing vehicle registrations, and enforcing pollution control.
“This job of yours is not just a government job but also a social responsibility,” he told the recruits.
Dhami encouraged the constables to uphold dedication and discipline and foster public cooperation and dialogue in their daily responsibilities.
