Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Holds Meeting At Maha Kumbh; Major Proposals Announced

Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari on Wednesday highlighted the inclusive support received for the Maha Kumbh cabinet meeting, stating that people from all religions and castes were in favor of the government’s developmental agenda.

Speaking to ANI, Ansari said:

“There is support from people of every religion and caste here. Our aim should be to progress towards development.”

The cabinet meeting, held at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, saw significant announcements by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his team. Among the key proposals, CM Yogi announced the establishment of three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat. Additionally, 62 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and five centers for innovation, invention, and training will be developed across the state.

The cabinet also approved the renewal of the Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence Employment Policy, aiming to boost employment and industrial development in the state.

Preparations for Future Events
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya revealed that preparations for the 2031 Ardha Kumbh have already begun, building on the groundwork laid during Maha Kumbh 2025. Speaking to media, Maurya said:

“A meeting of the cabinet was held here in Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Big decisions have been taken here. Preparations for 2031 Ardha Kumbh have also started here in Mahakumbh 2025.”

Political Reactions
Responding to criticisms from Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Maurya dismissed his remarks and prayed for his well-being:

“Akhilesh Yadav is suffering from a mental disease. He should be treated soon. I pray to Maa Ganga to bless him so that he gets rid of this kind of mentality.”

Yadav had earlier criticized the government for holding the cabinet meeting at Maha Kumbh, arguing that such a venue should not be used for political purposes. He remarked:

“Kumbh or Prayagraj is not the place where politics or political decisions should be taken. To organise a cabinet meeting at Kumbh is political. Many of us (Samajwadi party people) must have gone to take a holy dip but didn’t post a picture or told you (media).”

Despite the criticism, all 54 cabinet ministers attended the meeting, which focused on approving developmental schemes and proposals for Uttar Pradesh.
