Washington DC [US], June 23 : The United States Department of State has issued a “worldwide caution” travel advisory for US citizens due to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, warning of potential demonstrations and airspace disruptions across the Middle East.
Advisory Highlights:

- Increased threat of anti-US protests and attacks on US citizens or interests abroad.
- Citizens urged to review country-specific travel advisories and security alerts at travel.state.gov.
- Level 4 “Do Not Travel” alert issued for Lebanon.
- Security alerts also updated for Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Iraq, UAE, and Jordan.
The official travel alert, posted by the U.S. Department of State – Consular Affairs, emphasized the need for increased vigilance due to evolving geopolitical instability in West Asia.
“The conflict between Israel and Iran has resulted in disruptions to travel and periodic closure of airspace across the Middle East. There is the potential for demonstrations against U.S. citizens and interests abroad,” the advisory stated.

Background: US Airstrikes on Iran’s Nuclear Sites
This advisory follows recent US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities — Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz — carried out under orders from President Donald Trump.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the precision strikes in a joint press briefing alongside General Dan Caine, Chairperson of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
“It was an incredible and overwhelming success,” said Hegseth, asserting that the goal was to destroy or severely degrade Iran’s nuclear capabilities, while emphasizing that no Iranian civilians or troops were targeted.
The airstrikes have intensified already fragile regional dynamics, prompting global concern over retaliation and the possibility of a wider military escalation.
