US Election Day 2025: Your Guide to Polling Place Hours Coast-to-Coast

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs extended their impressive streak of AFC West victories on Sunday, narrowly defeating the Los Angeles Chargers in a thrilling divisional showdown. Despite a strong performance from Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, who threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns, the Chiefs managed to secure a tight 27-24 victory.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, while not posting spectacular numbers, was clinical, completing 23 of 37 passes for 242 yards and one touchdown. Crucially, the Chiefs’ rushing attack proved to be the difference-maker, chewing up valuable clock time and keeping the Chargers’ potent offense off the field in the second half. Running back Isiah Pacheco led the ground effort with 98 yards and a touchdown, including key runs late in the fourth quarter.

The game came down to the final minute. The Chargers, trailing by three, had possession near midfield. However, defensive end George Karlaftis ended the Chargers’ comeback bid, sacking Herbert with 30 seconds left and forcing a fumble that was recovered by the Chiefs.

“We found a way to win. That’s what divisional games are about,” said Chiefs coach Andy Reid after the game. “We leaned on our defense and our run game when we needed it most.”

The victory pushes the Chiefs to a dominant 6-1 record for the season and marks their 13th consecutive win against AFC West opponents, showcasing their continued dominance in the division. The Chargers fall to 4-3.
