“Uri: The Surgical Strike changed my life,” says Vicky Kaushal

Mumbai, January 12: Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal marked the sixth anniversary of Uri: The Surgical Strike with an emotional post, recalling how the film transformed his career and life.

Taking to Instagram, Vicky wrote,
“6 years to the movie that changed my life! Forever grateful for all the love. How’s the Josh?”

The 2019 war drama, directed by Aditya Dhar, narrated the gripping true story of the Indian Army’s surgical strikes in September 2016 on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Vicky Kaushal essayed the role of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill, earning widespread acclaim for his portrayal of the brave officer.

Yami Gautam’s Nostalgic Tribute

Yami Gautam, who played the role of Pallavi Sharma, also took a walk down memory lane, sharing a heartfelt note on Instagram. She expressed her gratitude to the audience and the team for making the film a lasting milestone in her career.

The film also featured Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina, showcasing the meticulous planning and execution of the strikes. Its iconic dialogue, “How’s the Josh? High, Sir!”, became a national catchphrase, resonating with audiences across the country.

Uri: The Surgical Strike not only set the box office on fire but also bagged four National Film Awards, including Best Actor for Vicky Kaushal and Best Director for Aditya Dhar.
