📜 Court-Ordered FIR Over Missing Service Records
The complaint stems from the alleged disappearance of Singh’s original service register, crucial for post-retirement formalities. The FIR was ordered by the High Court on May 29, after Singh filed a writ petition seeking legal intervention.
Circle Officer (Bairia) Mohammad Fahim Qureshi said,
“A probe has been launched and police are collecting relevant evidence.”
He also noted that this is not the first such case involving missing documentation in the secondary education department. In a separate February case, Ballia Kotwali police registered an FIR on the complaint of District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Devendra Kumar Gupta against:
- Ramesh Singh (then DIOS)
- Sanjay Kumar Kunwar (PA to DIOS)
- Ajay Singh (Senior Assistant)
- Mohammad Mainuddin (Urdu Translator)
- Shivanand Tiwari (Head Clerk)
That case too was filed under Section 316 of the BNS.
As the investigation continues, authorities are under increasing scrutiny for repeated instances of administrative negligence and record tampering within the education department.
