Ghaziabad/Lucknow: In a significant push toward social inclusion and industrial innovation, the Uttar Pradesh Government announced a landmark initiative to empower the transgender community and bolster India’s tech-driven, eco-friendly future.
A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that transgenders will now be included under the CM Yuva Abhiyan, a flagship programme focused on youth skill development and financial self-reliance. Under this initiative, members of the transgender community will receive vocational training and access to loan assistance based on their skills, aiming to enhance their livelihood opportunities and integrate them more firmly into mainstream society.
“This initiative will not only strengthen the transgender community financially but also play a decisive role in connecting them with the mainstream,” said the official release from the CMO.
Tech & Sustainability Take Centre Stage at CEL Event
On the same day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh jointly laid the foundation stone for the CEL-ESDS Green Data Centre in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad—marking a crucial step in India’s industrial revival and net-zero carbon goal.
Calling Central Electronics Limited (CEL) a “symbol of India’s industrial self-reliance”, CM Yogi noted that CEL is a key player in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.
“CEL is driving India’s progress through strength, technology, and confidence,” he said at the Golden Jubilee celebration of CEL.
CM Yogi highlighted that Uttar Pradesh is aiming to generate 20,000 megawatts of renewable energy by 2027, with CEL playing a pivotal role. The new greenfield data centre, being developed in collaboration with ESDS, is designed to support India’s transition to a digital and environmentally sustainable future.
“This green data centre is a strong step toward achieving PM Modi’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2070,” he said.
Ceremonial Touch: Sapling Planting & Exhibition Visit
During the ceremony, CM Yogi took part in a puja, visited an exhibition showcasing CEL’s innovations, and planted a sapling as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, reinforcing the state’s commitment to green development.
