New Delhi, India: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly will make history when it commences its session on Tuesday, becoming the first assembly in India to be equipped with the facility of a translator, according to a recent release.
The translation facility will be presented to the Ruling Committee and is expected to be implemented upon approval by the House of Suit, as stated in the release.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed translation rehearsals, which included Awadhi, Braj, Bhojpuri, Bundelkhand, and English, ensuring a smooth process for the upcoming session.
This session, beginning on February 18, 2025, is expected to focus on discussions related to the Prayagraj stampede and the Sambhal violence.
Prior to the session, the Working Committee convened a meeting on Monday, chaired by Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, where the proposed agenda for the budget session, running from today until March 5, 2025, was approved.
Key Budget Session Dates and Discussions
The budget session will kick off at 11 a.m. on February 18, with a joint meeting of the Legislature and an address from Governor Anandiben Patel. Both houses will be present for the session’s opening.
From February 19 to 21, legislative work will take place with a discussion on the vote of thanks for the Governor’s address.
On February 20, the government will present the budget for the 2025-26 financial year at 11 a.m., with an estimated budget of around 7.5 lakh crores.
The budget will be discussed in the House on February 24, 25, 27, and 28. The budget grants will be debated on March 3, 4, and 5, with the government aiming to pass the budget on March 5.
Additionally, during the session, two ordinances will be introduced: the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Planning and Amendment Ordinance 2025 and the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Ordinance 2025.
