A sweet moment shared online between YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and actor Elli AvrRam turned sour when a wave of misogynistic trolling followed their now-viral Instagram post. But while trolls flooded the comments with remarks about Elli’s “body count,” Uorfi Javed stepped up in defense of the actor, calling out the sexism.
On July 12, Ashish posted a heartwarming photo of him lifting Elli in his arms as they both grinned from ear to ear. The caption, simply reading “Finally”, left fans buzzing with speculation over a potential romance. While some celebrated the post, others resorted to toxic comments—many of them aimed solely at Elli.
Among the hateful remarks, several users crudely referred to Elli’s so-called “body count,” a term often misused online to shame women based on their alleged sexual history. Comments ranged from body shaming to outright sexist slurs, such as calling her “second hand.”
Uorfi Javed, known for speaking out against social hypocrisy, reposted a viral commentary on the situation to her Instagram Stories and strongly condemned the reaction Elli received.
“The world is so so brutal to women. Just a girl absolutely minding her business, she ain’t even controversial like me but guess what? No hate to the man. People love to villainize and hate women, that’s how they feel superior,” Uorfi wrote.
She wasn’t alone in her support. Some Instagram users also clapped back at the hate in the comments section:
“Comment section me jo body count bol rahe, shame on you guys (Shame on the people talking about body count),” wrote one user.
Another added, “How disgusting some people are. Let them live.”
Neither Elli nor Ashish has officially responded to the trolls or addressed the dating rumours directly. However, the incident has once again sparked conversations around online misogyny, double standards, and how women continue to face disproportionate scrutiny for simply existing in the public eye.
