Union Minister Kiren Rijiju Visits Ajmer Sharif Dargah To Offer Chadar

Ajmer (Rajasthan) [India], January 4: Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju visited the Ajmer Sharif Dargah on Saturday to offer a ‘chadar’ on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rijiju emphasized that the visit was meant to “reinforce the message of unity.”

“Heading to Ajmer Sharif Dargah with a ‘chadar’ on behalf of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodiji, a gesture of faith that unites millions & reflects the values of peace & brotherhood. During ‘Urs,’ lakhs of people visit, and we are focused on making their journey easier while reinforcing our message of unity,” Rijiju posted on X.

Rijiju’s visit to Ajmer follows his trip to the Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah in Delhi on Friday, where he offered his prayers. He was accompanied by BJP Minority Morcha National President Jamal Siddiqui, who also offered the ‘chadar’ at the Dargah. Siddiqui highlighted that the visit was a representation of PM Modi’s message of peace and brotherhood.

Earlier, on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the ‘chadar’ to Rijiju to be presented at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah in observance of the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, the revered 13th-century Sufi saint. This marks the 11th consecutive year that PM Modi has sent a ‘chadar’ to the shrine, continuing a tradition he has upheld since taking office. Last year, during the 812th Urs, the ‘chadar’ was presented by then Union Minister Smriti Irani and Jamal Siddiqui, along with a delegation from the Muslim community, on behalf of the Prime Minister.
