Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Slams Pakistan, Assures Strict Action After Pahalgam Terror Attack

New Delhi [India] : Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, accusing it of persistently using terrorism as an instrument of state policy, and assured that the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take strong and uncompromising action following the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.

While addressing the media, Puri stated, “Pakistan has been using terror as an instrument of state policy now for as long as I remember. Governments before Modi ji would express some anger and then return to normalcy soon after. What the government will be doing is not for us here to speculate. We have a strong, mature government.”

Responding to recent remarks made by Pakistan, Puri bluntly said, “These stupid statements coming from there (Pakistan), they need to get their mental situation checked,” highlighting India’s firm stance against cross-border terrorism.

The minister assured the public that strict measures will be taken against Pakistan, emphasizing, “This time there will be no compromise and the government will take strict action. They will be brought down to their knees.”

Earlier in the day, Puri, along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, participated in the distribution of Ayushman Bharat cards to senior citizens under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana at New Delhi’s Thyagaraj Stadium. The initiative aims to extend healthcare benefits to citizens aged 70 and above.

Following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam — which resulted in the killing of 26 individuals, including one Nepalese national — the Indian government took decisive diplomatic measures. On Friday, India revoked all categories of visas issued to Pakistani nationals, except for long-term, diplomatic, and official visas, with immediate effect from April 27.

The Pahalgam attack, which took place around 2 pm at Baisaran meadow near the popular tourist town, is being described as one of the deadliest incidents in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike that killed 40 CRPF jawans.

The Indian government’s strong response signals a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and reiterates its commitment to safeguarding national security.
