Sambalpur (Odisha), January 5: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the crucial role of strengthening panchayats in achieving a developed India. Speaking in Sambalpur, he noted that the ongoing initiatives in the state align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering local governance and promoting decentralized development.
Pradhan highlighted the state government’s efforts in conducting capacity-building programs for the 138 panchayats in Sambalpur district. “For a developed India, it is essential to have developed panchayats. The state government is actively conducting capacity-building programs to empower the panchayats in Sambalpur and enhance their governance capabilities. This is in line with Prime Minister Modi’s dream of strengthening the Panchayati Raj system,” Pradhan told ANI.
These programs are designed to equip local panchayat representatives with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage local governance and ensure that development reaches the grassroots level.
Earlier, Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the state-of-the-art ‘MBS Spices Industry’ in Gangapur, Ganjam district, Odisha, underscoring its importance for the rural economy. “This factory will help skilled people of Ganjam work locally instead of migrating for employment,” Pradhan said after the inauguration.
In a post on X, Pradhan elaborated, “The MBS Spice Factory in Gangapur will play a key role in boosting the rural economy. It will provide fair prices for agricultural products, especially spices, and contribute to the vision of a developed Odisha and India, as envisioned by Prime Minister Modi.”
The establishment of the factory is seen as a step forward in supporting local farmers, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the economic development of the region.
