In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing conflict, Ukraine has agreed to a peace deal with Russia, with only minor details yet to be finalized, CBS News reported on Tuesday, citing a senior US official.
According to the report, the official confirmed that Kyiv has accepted the proposed terms of the peace agreement.
“The Ukrainians have agreed to the peace deal. There are some minor details to be sorted out, but they have agreed to a peace deal,” the US official was quoted as saying.
The development marks one of the most notable shifts in the geopolitical landscape since the war began in February 2022. While the core framework of the agreement appears to have been accepted by Ukraine, the nature of the remaining unresolved details has not been publicly disclosed.
Officials from both countries have not yet issued formal statements, and international observers are closely monitoring the situation as further negotiations progress.
If confirmed and successfully implemented, the peace deal could potentially bring an end to one of Europe’s most devastating conflicts in modern history.
