Uttarakhand Secures 6th Position In 38th National Games With Record 62 Medals

Uttarakhand has achieved an extraordinary milestone in the 38th National Games, securing the 6th position in the overall medal tally with a total of 62 medals. This impressive haul includes 14 gold, 22 silver, and 26 bronze medals, reflecting a remarkable improvement from its previous standings.

The state’s journey in the National Games has been nothing short of inspiring. From finishing 25th in the 37th National Games, Uttarakhand has made a giant leap to 6th place this year. A steady rise from 19th position in the early stages of the competition to breaking into the top six showcases the dedication and excellence of its athletes.

Among the key contributors to this success, Wushu and Taekwondo emerged as Uttarakhand’s top-performing disciplines, bringing in an impressive 12 medals each. These achievements highlight the state’s growing dominance in martial arts and its commitment to nurturing sports talent.

The state government and sports authorities have lauded the athletes, coaches, and support staff for their hard work and perseverance, which played a crucial role in this achievement. Uttarakhand continues to foster a culture of sports excellence, aiming to inspire future generations and achieve even greater milestones in national and international competitions.

The National Games 2025, which began on January 28, will continue until February 14. Notably, this is the first time Uttarakhand is hosting the National Games, making the achievement even more significant.
