A Ugandan man has stirred a major conversation about safety in Dubai after sharing a viral Instagram video that put the city’s global reputation to the test. The man, identified as Rashid Lumunye, documented an unusual yet interesting experiment that quickly grabbed the attention of thousands of viewers online.
Before flying out of Dubai to Uganda, Lumunye ordered an Amazon package and deliberately left it outside his doorstep. His goal? To see whether the parcel would remain safe until he returned.
“Everyone Says Dubai Is Safe…”
In his video, Lumunye explains the thought behind the experiment.
“Everyone says Dubai is safe, but last week before I left Dubai, I ordered an item from Amazon, and it was delivered to my doorstep while I was away, here in Uganda. Right now, I am heading back to Dubai, and I want to find if my delivery is still there at my doorstep,” he says.
From Entebbe to Dubai — The Journey Back
Sharing his return journey with viewers, Lumunye narrates each step.
He mentions flying with Emirates from Entebbe, bidding farewell to his parents, checking in, boarding the flight, and landing at Dubai International Airport around 10.50 pm. From there, he sets off straight home, promising viewers a “big reveal.”

Once he reaches his residence, the moment everyone had been waiting for finally arrives.
“Okay so right now I’m home and let us go and check if my package that was delivered last week is still there… and the package is still here! For an entire week it has been right at my doorstep. This is one of the beauties of living in one of the safest places on earth,” he says while revealing the untouched parcel.
The package appears exactly where it was placed — untouched, unmoved, and unbothered.
